Take Care of your Postpartum Body
After I had my son, I expected the feelings portrayed in countless Instagram photos. Contentment, wonder, and pure joy. When I didn’t feel those emotions, I worried that something was wrong with me.
The exhaustion and discomfort seemed to overpower one of the most important moments of my life.
Instead of realizing that my body needed care, I neglected it further by pushing my own needs aside as I focused solely on the needs of my new son.
I felt pressure to be strong and to push through my misery because “that's what moms do.”
Even when I had Cracked nipples, sore boobs, stretch marks, achy muscles, and fire from down south. I was physically drained, and emotionally depleted. I didn’t recognize my body. I didn’t feel like myself.
I wanted to escape this new life that I had eagerly anticipated over the last 9 months.
The products from the hospital provided minimal relief and I was made to feel like the experience was just something to endure.
This experience did not sit right.
A new baby is not easy but it does not have to come at the cost of your physical well-being.
I want to challenge this societal expectation by shifting some emphasis back to the mom and her needs during one of the most challenging experiences a woman can go through.
I want to do this by providing moms with the products they need to heal, find comfort, and feel beautiful during the postpartum period.
It’s kind of funny to think about how we all have a “baby” shower and a “baby” registry, everything is focused solely on the baby and not many people give gifts or support for the mother’s health and well-being.
It is important that you plan for your time of recovery and rest. My goal is to provide prenatal and postpartum skin essentials so that moms feel seen and cared for.
That’s why I have created the Postpartum Care Package! This package is filled with pregnancy safe and baby safe items that puts a mother’s healing and overall well-being first. In our next blog post, I will go into more detail of what exactly is in the package, as well as ingredient highlights. In the meantime, take a look at the Postpartum Care Package HERE.
